Play is the basis of development

The staff must design the activity so that it promotes play and creativity and takes advantage of and strengthens the children’s interest in learning. Play is an important part of children’s development and learning. Through play, children develop different abilities and skills. In our business, play must permeate our work. We adults must support the children by being present in their play by observing and following their interests. We will create different meeting places that give the children the opportunity to develop their imagination and imagination. We will participate in various games that the children initiate themselves based on their conditions and we will plan various adult-led activities that in turn lead to play and learning.

Communication and creation

Language is the basis for all learning, so language and communication are an important area for us. In our work, we are inspired by the Reggio Emilia philosophy “a child has a hundred languages” and we will give the children the opportunity for different forms of expression. We will do this by working with drama, theatre, dance, music and creative materials. Varied material will be offered where the children have the opportunity to choose, create and express themselves freely. Sometimes it can be enough to give the children a pencil and paper and at other times we can stimulate the children’s different forms of expression by building different scenes.

Sustainable development, health and well-being

We will work with sustainable development. In the social dimension of sustainability, we will start from the companion books linked to the Children’s Convention. We will also read books about different life conditions and talk to the children about them.

In financial sustainability, we will talk to the children about energy and highlight waste versus frugality. We will do this by alerting the children to turn off the lights, turn off the water tap or close the front doors.

In terms of environmental issues, we will work with source sorting. We will work with litter linked to decomposition. Detect decomposition by digging into materials to see similarities and differences in what is happening. Recycle and demonstrate the benefits of reusing materials.

Care, development and learning

According to the preschool’s curriculum, education must be based on a holistic view of children and their needs, where care, development and learning form a whole. By giving the children the opportunity for clear routines, we can make the children feel secure. Care is an important aspect of our work. In order for care, development and learning to form a whole, we will make use of every care situation such as meals, diaper changes and dressing and undressing as learning moments. We will work on this by using topics of conversation and rhymes during meals and nappy changes, focus words at various meeting places, pictures for getting on and undressing. In our work, we will start from each child’s needs and interests and give them the opportunity to develop knowledge and values and also develop the desire to learn. By observing what the children do and say, we will offer the children various activities that can stimulate their creativity and desire for play and learning.

Our Philosophy:
